BGCB Scholarship Information


Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston emphasizes the importance of education in the lives of youth. We utilize our powerful partnerships with supporters to offer seven scholarships. Each award enables young people to pursue their dreams of a college education. Applicants must be members or alumni of Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston. Members or alumni who are currently attending college are welcome to apply, but preference will be given to high school seniors who have not yet received a BGCB scholarship. The Francine Adams Scholarship is awarded to up to three Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston members who have displayed a high level of academic achievement, community service involvement, and financial need.  Preference for this scholarship is given to high school seniors, although alumni currently enrolled in college are welcome to apply.  Award amounts range from $500-$2,000.

The Kraft Scholarship is awarded to one Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston member who has displayed a strong level of community service involvement.  The member must be a high school senior and planning to attend college the following fall.  The amount awarded is $5,000.  

The Merit/Fariborz Scholarship is a $2,500-$5,000 scholarship, awarded in two installments – the first half at the end of the fall semester and the second half at the end of the spring semester.  Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston selects several awardees who have displayed a high level of academic achievement.  Members are required to maintain a 3.0 GPA during their first year of college to receive the full award. 

 

The Newbury College Scholarship is an award offered through a partnership between Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston and Newbury College.  This scholarship is awarded to two Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston high school seniors who plan to attend Newbury College the following fall.  Applicants for this scholarship must display academic achievement, community service involvement, and financial need.  The award is a four-year half tuition scholarship. 

Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston’s Vocational Scholarship is awarded to BGCB members seeking to further their education through a vocational or technical program.  Members must be high school seniors and plan to attend the program the following fall.   

The Harvard Scholarship is a partial scholarship available through the generosity of a BGCB board member.  The scholarship will be granted to a member upon admission to Harvard.
