Alumni Profiles

Below are five profiles of accomplished Yawkey Club of Roxbury alumni. During the Centennial Celebration, BGCB is proud to recognize the successes of these individuals, and many others, who attended the Club during their youth.

 

Fred C. Fairfield

Mr. Fairfield is the President of the Canton Corporation. He is the also the Chair of the Yawkey Club of Roxbury's Local Advisory Board. His professional offices are housed in the Club's original Dudley Square building, which he renovated to preserve the history of the Club.

Michael Mitchell

Mr. Mitchell is the former Director of the Yawkey Club of Roxbury and currently is the Executive Director of Youth Options Unlimited (Y.O.U.). He has served on the Board of Directors for the Roxbury/North Dorchester Little League and is an Overseer for Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston.

Reverend Miniard Culpepper

Reverend Culpepper is the Pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He also is an active community volunteer who has worked with young men to combat youth violence in Roxbury. He received his Bachelor's from Brandeis University and went onto law school at Suffolk University. In addition to his role as a Pastor, he serves as Assistant General Council to the New England Region for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

George A. Russell

Mr. Russell is President of the State Street Foundation, and a former Director and Overseer for Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Urban League of Massachusetts and as an Overseer for Financial Services Academy. He received his Bachelor's from Clark University.

Candace Sealey

Ms. Sealey is an aide to Congressman Michael Capuano and serves as his liaison in the following Boston neighborhoods: Mattapan, Dorchester, Roxbury and Hyde Park.
