The Club staff respected my abilities, giving me the opportunity to help other Club members and learn work. My involvement with the Keystone Club took me to places far outside the South Boston area (Washington DC, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Anaheim) and showed me how life happens there. I think that the Club's support helped in my application and transition to college life. An engineer is a problem solver; the Club was interested in my computer problem solving skills, and allowed me to learn and experiment during my time there.
Sgt Maria Shea RohrSB Club Member: 1982-1993
Brother Kevin J. Shea Jr. is a former Club Member
Education: Southie High (1995), United States Air Force (Avionics Degree)
Current Profession: Training Manager for 500 + people, USAF
Interests: Parent Teacher Association, soccer coach, college alumni association, etc.
My fondest memories were being on the swim team with Leo Collins and Pat Mallard, and on the BNBL girls basketball team with Jenise (Smith) Maynard Kim (Quigg) Coyne, Sharon (Gleason) Flabotte, Michelle McCormick, Colleen Coyne and a few others. The Club impacted my entire life and goals! If it weren’t for Steve Lampron and Brian Wallace being apart of my life I don’t know what I would have become. Steve always told me I could do anything and be anything and to get away and experience life. That’s exactly what I did and I have a special place in my heart for them forever. I loved the Club and so did many other people. It kept us off the streets and around really good people that we could look up to. You really can’t find a place like that anymore. The Teen Center was awesome! I could only dream of a place like that for my son to be apart of. A place where our parents didn’t have to worry about us being there. I especially miss the club Friday night dances!

Favorite things about the Club were the facilities, meeting new friends, movies, woodworking, photography, Games Room and the Pool. Personally, the Club taught me to respect other human beings and professionally, the Club taught me discipline.
