Established in 1947, the Youth of the Year Award at Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston recognizes Club members who have shown superior leadership, academic achievement, and service to their respective club community. The annual program builds personal growth and leadership qualities among our young members.

When Manny is called upon to fulfill a task, he always gives it his best. His commitment and work ethic really began to shine when he participated in the eight-week “Learn It, Do It” program at MTC, which led him to be recommended for a summer leadership program called “Enjoy Life Education.”
Manny’s leadership allows others to shine too. At MTC, you can find him conducting tours for potential funders, teaching other members how to play chess, and participating in community service activities. Manny has a deep appreciation for the MTC Staff and his community. He wants to give back in the same way that staff and community members have given to him through their time, energy, and caring nature.
Passionate about uniting people through the idea of the Golden Rule, Manny desires to take part in work that instills respect for all people. Manny graduated from Dearborn STEM Academy in June and plans to pursue a degree in Computer Science at UMASS Boston.
