The Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB) offers more than 200 programs designed to support the holistic development of young people. These programs encompass:
Education and STEM: BGCB provides homework assistance through Power Hour, tutoring, and high-yield learning activities to reinforce academic success. STEM programs expose members to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on projects and collaborations with institutions like the Museum of Science. Programs like The Juice enhance reading comprehension, while partnerships with Franklin Cummings Tech offer college credit opportunities.
Arts: Members develop creative expression and confidence through visual and performing arts, including music lessons, photography, talent shows, and dance classes. BGCB provides comprehensive arts programming across seven Clubs.
Leadership: The nationally chartered Torch Club (ages 11-13) and Keystone Club (ages 14-18) help members practice decision-making skills and foster positive self-image. These programs focus on service to Club and community, education, health and fitness, and social recreation.
Life Skills: Through college clubs, teen mentoring, and Junior Staff opportunities, members develop healthy self-esteem and motivation. The CLOVER model supports social-emotional learning, focusing on Active Engagement, Assertiveness, Belonging, and Reflection.
Sports, Fitness, and Recreation: Five Clubs feature state-of-the-art pools for swim lessons and aquatics programs. Members participate in sports leagues, travel teams, and outdoor adventures to develop physical fitness and social skills.
Technology: BGCB promotes technology fluency through partnerships like The Clubhouse Network, encouraging members to become designers, inventors, and creators. Digital music studios and cyber summits provide hands-on technology experience.
Workforce Readiness: The Ready to Work program prepared over 500 teens for employment in 2023, offering internships at organizations like Boston Children’s Hospital and Fidelity Investments. Programs include financial literacy education and professional skills development.
Health and Wellness: Licensed social workers and wellness coaches provide mental health support across all Clubs. BGCB served 274,000 nutritious meals and snacks in 2023, while offering culinary education and gardening programs.
Summer Programs: BGCB runs affordable summer camps and offers paid summer jobs for teens. Recent initiatives included The Juice reading platform, The Calculus Project for math enrichment, and biotech camps through GMGI-Gloucester Marine Genomics.

We aim to keep our Clubs and programs affordable and accessible to accommodate more youth who need us. Annual membership rates are $25 for youth ages 6-12 and $5 for teens ages 13-18.
