This series features our corporate supporters who embody what it means to have a holistic partnership – one in which our partners are not only invested in our mission, but also engaged with our members and their individual goals.
For the past 17 years, Loomis, Sayles & Company has been a proud and passionate partner of Boys & Girls Club of Boston (BGCB), making a profound impact on the countless young people BGCB serves. As a global leader in institutional and mutual fund investments, Loomis Sayles began its inspiring journey with BGCB at the Edgerley Family South Boston Club in 2007.
From the outset, their dedication to the BGCB mission goes far beyond their generous financial support. By actively engaging with our members and communities through hundreds of volunteer hours their employees have contributed, they help to bring our programs to life and play a pivotal role in shaping brighter futures for our members.
Over the years, Loomis Sayles has consistently demonstrated their passion for authentic collaboration, enriching BGCB and the larger communities both organizations serve. Employees have actively participated in local Club events, from road races and Pass the Mic events, and have even served as judges for our annual Youth of the Year competition. As this partnership has evolved, Loomis Sayles has proven to be a true champion of BGCB’s education and arts initiatives.
One of the standout collaborations is their support of the Yawkey Club of Roxbury’s annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Tour. Through this initiative, teen members across the organization get the life-changing opportunity to tour 10 HBCUs. In summer 2024, Loomis Sayles went a step further by welcoming members who attended this year’s HBCU tour to their Boston corporate office. This visit allowed members to share their experiences, connect with employees, and seek guidance from potential mentors—building invaluable relationships that will shape their futures.
Loomis Sayles is also a key supporter of the arts across seven of BGCB’s Clubs, as well as our dedicated Teen Center. Their generosity helps fuel creativity and self-expression, providing members with enriching opportunities to explore their artistic talents. The Floral Design Club, an innovative program at the Charlestown Club, allows our members to discover the beauty of the natural world while learning the art of floral design. Through this unique outlet, they create stunning arrangements to share with their community, fostering both creativity and connection.
The important work BGCB does would not be possible without the support of generous donors like Loomis Sayles. BGCB’s success is a testament to the powerful partnerships we’ve built. Thanks to committed partners like Loomis Sayles, we can continue providing life-changing programs and experiences for our members and communities.
