Rashawn, 11th Grader Boston Green Academy
Today is the day that we finally got to the house boats. I woke up at around 8 o’clock in the morning and ate breakfast. At around 9:30am, the group met up to do our daily energizer and to get the day officially started. After that we had a 2 hour bus drive followed by an auto rickshaw ride that would lead us straight to the house boats.
We were split up into groups and put on different boats. On my boat, I was with Nimo, Naimah, Princess and Adam. The rooms were beautiful and so was the boat itself. Each boat was different and unique. Some had two-stories and others had elaborate dining rooms. We all had fun on the boat playing card games, doing magic tricks, dancing, and having meaningful conversations. A few members on my boat started a dance party and provided entertainment to other boats that passed by us. The food was excellent as well.
The purpose of the day was to self-reflect as the boats traveled through peaceful, narrow waterways. I thought about the trip and everything going on in my life. I think I have a good grasp myself and where I am in life. At night, everyone was enjoying themselves and having their own little party on one of our three boats. I was tired so I headed to bed for a good night’s rest.
