Together, our organization can continue to adapt based on the needs of the community — it is what has kept BGCB going strong for nearly 130 years.
Dear Friends,
Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston remains diligently focused on our mission to help young people, especially those who need us most, as communities across our city are challenged by coronavirus. To promote the health and safety of our members and their families, staff, and neighborhoods, our 11 Club locations and YouthConnect are physically closed. These closures, however, have not stopped us from serving our members and their families.
BGCB is adapting to meet the current needs of Boston’s and Chelsea’s youth and families by:
- Contacting 1,100 members and families each week, on average.
- Distributing $60,000 in grocery gift cards, 1,600 hygiene products, and other critical resources.
- Providing phone therapy through YouthConnect social workers for 200+ youth and families to address trauma, abuse, and safety concerns.
- Rolling out Club at Home, daily virtual programming in all areas, yielding 25,000+ video views and counting.
- Establishing BGCB’s Support Line, a newly launched resource for anyone in need.
- Distributing 1,000 take-home art projects in partnership with Michaels.
BGCB continues to have conversations with partners across the city, including Boston Public Schools, to determine the most effective way to help our families and the community.
We rely on your generosity today to help BGCB’s 14,000+ youth thrive in and out of school. Please consider supporting BGCB today. Together, our organization can continue to adapt based on the needs of the community—it is what has kept BGCB going strong for nearly 130 years.
Thank you for your unwavering support of our mission and the families we serve.
Sincerely,
Josh Kraft
