Welcome to post #65 of Club at Home! Every day, we share content that brings Club programs, traditions, and staff into the homes of members. Our goal is to provide the same fun and educational activities to our Club members and families, even while Clubs are physically closed.

Today, we check in with staff from our Clubs who share different activities for members across all age groups, including ice cream in a jar, melody writing, a “wishing well” challenge, and vocab quizzes.

Music

Music Mike, Creative Arts Director, recommends some videos to learn how to write a melody! Believe it or not, you can come up with a great melody for your song with just a few notes. A melody is the part of the music that you might sing along to. So many popular songs use only a few notes in their melodies. Music Mike’s challenge to you is to pick only three notes to come up with a melody.

If you don’t have an instrument at home, no problem! Soundtrap lets you play keyboard instruments like piano and synths using your computer keyboard. Check out the video below to use “musical typing” to create your own melodies.

Also, below is a great video about songs that use only 1 – 3 notes in their famous melodies.
