Welcome to post #13 of Club at Home! Every day, we share content that brings Club programs, traditions, and staff into the homes of members. Our goal is to provide the same fun and educational activities to our Club members and families, even while Clubs are physically closed.

Today, we check in with staff from our Clubs who share different activities for members across all age groups including protective masks, smoothies, poetry, guitar solos, smART Talks, Pokémon, and Wellness Wednesday.

April is National Poetry Month, and today is Wordy Wednesday! In honor of both, Education Coordinator Braidie challenges everyone to create a type of poetry called blackout poetry. To try it, take a page from an old magazine or book (with permission from your parents) and look for themes or stand-out phrases to create a poem out of the text on the page. You can do this by using a sharpie or marker to blackout the words that you don’t need and highlight the words that you want to showcase! Think about topics or themes you’d like to share and pick articles or books you feel will help.

Send poetry submissions to bconnors@bgcb.org by Monday, April 13, and the top poems will be shared next Wordy Wednesday!

For all ages.
