In Her Own Words:
What has your path to your current role at BGCB looked like?
In 2013, while I was still in college, I was an art therapy intern working in the art room and running different groups with the social worker. I also worked one on one with a member once a week, facilitating art therapy workshops. In 2014, I became the Art Assistant. In 2016 I became the Wagner Family Art Director.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Coming to Berkshire Partners Blue Hill Boys & Girls Club every day does not feel like work. It is a fun, exciting, and fast-paced environment and I have always loved working with children. I love watching the children grow over the years, and while they may not always want to participate in art programs, members will always come to the art room to stop by, say hello, and just catch up.
What do you like most about BGCB?
Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston provides opportunities for professional development and leadership opportunities within the Club. While I hold the Art Director role, I am also the Summer Camp Director, and I appreciate that I am able to conduct my programming as freely as I choose to.
