BGCB offers myriad opportunities each year in the life of a Club member from age 6 to 18. The samples below highlight the breadth and depth of BGCB programming during these developmental years.

Anthony’s mom is thankful to have all her kids enrolled as she has come to rely on the Club as a safe place for her kids to go after school. As a young member, Anthony makes friends, and begins learning how to swim and use a computer.

Anthony is learning how to cook in classes at the Club, and working on his basketball skills through weekly practice and Club league games. He also spends his afternoons completing his homework in Power Hour and participating in Torch Club activities that develop life skills, build character, and demonstrate the importance of community.

Anthony is now old enough to join the Young Leaders summer program where he is as a role model to younger Club members, and helps with camp operations by serving meals. Thanks to BGCB’s partnership with Berklee College of Music, Anthony learns to play the guitar and is ready to audition for a Club band.

Anthony feels fully immersed in the Teen Center. He is also an active participant in the Ready to Work program, which provides professional development workshops and internship opportunities to prepare him for success in life after the club.
