This Thanksgiving, Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston’s Orchard Gardens Club welcomed Patriots’ defensive lineman Lawrence Guy to the Club as he hosted his 11th Annual Guy Family Thanksgiving Giveaway. This year, Guy and his wife Andrea served more than 100 families as they passed out 150 turkeys and 150 bags of Thanksgiving sides, including stuffing, potatoes, green beans, and gravy.
“We appreciate Lawrence and Andrea’s dedication to our Club and community,” explained Orchard Gardens Club Director Russ Lamberti. “Their year-after-year support for our members and families during the holidays provides a tremendous boost to everyone as they celebrate with family and friends, and something to look forward to every year.”
One Roxbury woman attending the event explained, “This is our second year attending this event. It’s very helpful this year, especially because there is a shortage of turkeys, and me and my sister are feeding 25 people on Thanksgiving.”
In 2021, 100% of Orchard Gardens Club families said the Club’s in-person programming helped their children make and model healthy physical, social, and emotional choices while staying connected to friends throughout the pandemic. 100% of families also said that the Club made it easier for someone in their household to go to work this year.
