Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston Hall of Fame Inductee, 2020

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston Hall of Fame celebrates a tradition of positive influence and impact across the communities of Boston and Chelsea. Inductees are individuals who have gone on to make important contributions in their field, are role models of exemplary service to their community, and continue to have a positive impact on their Club.

Get to Know Anthony:

Anthony joined the Jordan Club when he was 6-years-old which at the time was simply a safe place for extra homework help after school. During his time at the Club, it became a safe haven that would open numerous doors within both his personal and professional career. Anthony was exposed to numerous activities including the performing arts, competitive swimming, cooking classes, and the environmental sciences. To this day, Anthony tries to catch a live theater performance or go swimming as part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  Through these activities, Anthony interacted with phenomenal staff members who have served as lifelong mentors.

Anthony attended Boston College and earned a B.A. in Biology. Anthony then interned at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the Division of Cardiac Surgery doing clinical outcomes research. Working with surgical leaders like the late Dr. Lawrence Cohn, a BGCB Trustee, and Dr. Tsuyoshi Kaneko inspired Anthony to become an academic surgeon. Anthony attended Tufts University School of Medicine and is now a first-year resident in the General Surgery Residency Program at the University of Virginia.

To say that Anthony can trace much of his success to the Jordan Club would be an understatement. He is proud to be a Club kid and hopes he can one day pave the path for kids like himself.
