Paul J. Rooney, an Edgerley Family South Boston Club alumnus and member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston’s Board of Directors, is the Managing Partner of EBS. Paul’s role is to oversee business operations for the firm while advising employers on group health, life and disability benefit funding methods, plan design, cost containment, and state and federal compliance issues. Over the past 25 years, Paul has gained extensive experience in the area of managed care, specifically developing plans for multi-state employers and negotiating pricing with various managed care companies. He began his career at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and was the SVP of employee benefit services for Minet Insurance Brokers (Aon) before founding EBS in 1997.

Paul is a charter member on the advisory board for United Benefit Advisors (UBA), serves on the Broker Advisory Council at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, an instructor at Boston University’s Metropolitan College and Suffolk University, and an active member of the New England Employee Benefits Council.
