The Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston's Hall of Fame celebrates a tradition of positive influence and impact across the communities of Boston and Chelsea.

Through our Hall of Fame, Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston is honored to recognize exemplary leaders who stand out as role models for our members and alumni. Each inductee demonstrates their commitment to BGCB’s core values: youth first, integrity, community, equity, and innovation.

Whether as an alumnus/alumna, a Board member, or an individual committed to our mission, each of these distinguished honorees has contributed to the betterment of our Clubs, families, communities, Commonwealth, and beyond.

Meet the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston's Hall of Fame Class of 2022

Robert D. Monahan

Edgerley Family South Boston Club alumnus
BGCB Trustee

A lifelong resident of South Boston, Bob graduated from Boston College High School and from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Relations.

Upon graduating from Harvard, he served as the Program Director and Director of the Tynan Community Center. In 1983 Bob became the Director of the then South Boston Boys & Girls Club. Bob would later serve as BGCB’s Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Strategic Partnerships.  

Catherine T. Morris

Berkshire Partners Blue Hill Club alumna

Catherine is the Founder & Artistic Director, BAMS Fest (Boston Art & Music Soul Festival) and Director of Arts & Culture, The Boston Foundation.

It is Catherine’s hope that BAMS Fest becomes a pipeline to Boston’s arts and culture ecosystem and creative economy in a manner that minimizes implicit bias, closes the racial wealth gap, inspires hope, and positively impacts the livelihoods of future creatives.

James E. Rooney

Edgerley Family South Boston Club alumnus

James is the president and chief executive officer of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, one of the region’s leading business associations.

He has focused on creating a more inclusive Chamber broadening its membership, staff, and leadership, including introducing innovative programs and initiatives designed to attract and retain next generation leaders, minority-owned and small businesses.

Paul J. Rooney

Edgerley Family South Boston Club alumnus
BGCB Director

Paul is the Managing Partner of EBS. His role is to oversee business operations for the firm while advising employers on group health, life and disability benefit funding methods, plan design, cost containment, and state and federal compliance issues.

Over the past 25 years, Paul has gained extensive experience in the area of managed care, specifically developing plans for multi-state employers and negotiating pricing with various managed care companies.

Helen Chin Schlichte

BGCB Senior Advisory Board member

Helen served as Assistant to the Massachusetts Secretary of Administration and Finance and in the legislative and executive branches of state government for five decades.

As one of the first Asian women to achieve prominence as a public administrator, Helen has been a mentor and strong supporter of women pursuing careers in government.
